FAME

As teens when we go out society automatically thinks we're popping pills and doing drugs or recking the town. Everyone's down on us to NOT do drugs but nobody's seeing the dangers to fame. Celebrities go out and party and fill our heads with the need to always be seen that we can't help but want the same attention. They fill us up-to-date on practically everything that's happening in their lives, what they wear, where they're going, and what they're interested in. All this affects how we live our lives because we then feel the need to emulate them by buying the same clothes and accessories and eventually wanting to be just like them.

Teenagers are easily influenced by celebrities because we go through mid life crises and this is the time when we're constantly reinventing ourselves and trying to maintain that ideal image. There are little girls on Facebook and Instagram that are obsessed with likes that they'll post a pic half naked just for the attention.

The power of celebrities are taking control of us and as a result we have negative behavior. We are so use to doing wrong because we are constantly being projected to celebrities that make our wrongs seem right. For instance reality shows have us thinking that you can be famous by being a bad girl, teen mom, or a party animal.

Rapper Kanye West said in his interview with Breakfast Club "We are mentally a slave. We are enslaved to brands. A women is enslaved to the concept that diamonds are a girls bestfriend when girls in London don't even wear engagement rings, that's all been programmed into us because we're held down by society's perception of us." I'd argree but I also agree that Kanye West is trapped himself. He's become insane with being rich, he thinks that we're all slaves and the only way to have freedom is money. Society makes it seem like you need to have Prada in order to have a voice. But your voice is just as powerful as everyone else's . Like Kanye West said this is the Hunger games and we're all just too caught up in competing with one another, we forget to think. What you do not only affects you but everyone around you and for celebrities that's a big thing when your suppose to be a role model. Fame is the new drug be careful while inhaling the spotlight...

Bad Habits

Before social media we use to write letters and visit each other’s house but today we lack those communication skills. Social media has taken over our lives and it's sad to say but we don't know how to communicate. It has become a new way to meet friends. There's so many websites out today such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Google, Youtube etc. that make us isolated. Facebook is currently the biggest social media network site in the world with over a million users logged on each day. You can search anything you can think of from baby names to science projects on Google. Youtube has become the next how to with all its videos on how to fix an Iphone screen or how to rip jeans. Yes we're still learning something new but it's still defeating the whole purpose of asking somebody.
Are our digital lives more important than our individual lives: It's undeniable? We rely on our phones for practically everything! I couldn't go a day without my phone! IPhones have become our new best friends. Right after I get dressed I'll refresh my tweets to see who tweeted me or go on Instagram to see updated pics. When I sit by myself at lunch I never put down my phone. And When I come home I can't start my homework without checking my phone. Without my phone I wouldn't wake up on time for school, or know when the next episode of Glee starts.  We don't talk on the phone anymore we text. You’ll text a friend instead of talking to them when they're sitting right beside you. We're too busy looking down at our phones we won't know what’s going on in our surroundings. IPhones have a new app that lets you change your TV channel without a remote. There's no more fun in things with technology because it makes everything so much easier. Why go to the movies when you can travel and watch Netflix? Why go to the gym when you can have a 10 minute workout video within seconds? All these bad habits are becoming too common, in our society. It's blocking us out from outside the world.
Schools now have tests and textbooks on computers and you don’t have to go out for job interviews anymore, you can just take them online.
And let's not forget about headphones, it's our new way of tuning things out. Sooner or later we're all going to go deaf; we blast those things so loud a person 3 feet away could hear. Our generation is the definition of lazy. It's scary but I wonder how many of us are even thinking about what this is doing to us? What will happen to our future generation? We'll probably have enough technology to do everything while in bed.
